Gramophone magazine review the “superb” AKG Lyra USB Microphone
“What really impresses about the Lyra is the sheer quality of sound it is capable of delivering, with an absolute minimum of experience or fuss. This is a superb microphone, made simple.”
The AKG Lyra is an ultra-HD, multi-mode USB microphone that delivers pristine 24-bit, 192 kHz audio quality, with four versatile capture modes suited to a wide range of recording applications. It is reviewed in the new issue of Gramophone magazine where it is deemed a “miracle mic”.
“Although my main interest in the Lyra was for voiceovers in video production and the occasional podcast, I was pleasantly surprised at the excellent sound it delivered when recording friends either singing or playing instruments. The Tight Stereo setting gives an excellent account of solo or small groups, with that immediacy one hears in ‘one-microphone’ recordings made with much more expensive equipment, while Wide Stereo really opens up the sound and would be excellent for recording choirs, chamber groups and the like”.
The full review can be found in the May issue of Gramophone magazine on sale now. The AKG Lyra is also available now priced at £139 RRP inc VAT.
