Four Nords on stage with the Bryan Ferry band

Recently we met up with the Bryan Ferry band at the Brighton Dome on the final night of their UK tour.  Their regular touring rig consists of 2 x Stage 2 HA88s, an Electro 4 and a Nord Modular.   We were able to talk with musical director Paul Beard, keyboard player and saxophonist Jorja Chalmers, and keyboard tech / synth programmer Liam Duggan.

Watch our video interview with Paul and Jorja:

Paul Beard

"The Nord Stage 2 has been my keyboard of choice for quite a few years now because in my opinion it's a fabulous performance keyboard.   We've gt a strong mandate to try to be as authentic as possible to all the different eras of Bryan's musical career and for this the Nord has really come up trumps."

Jorja Chalmers

Jorja has been performing with Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry since 2007.  On this tour she is using a Nord Modlar and another Stage 2 88 for the second keyboard parts.

In this SoundCloud clip, synth programmer Liam Duggan discusses his decision to use a pair of Stage 2s for the touring rig.

Last, but of course not least, here is the Nord Electro 3 that Bryan himself plays.

And as it was the final night of the tour, we even got to take the offical "end of tour" photo

Huge thanks to Paul, Jorja, Liam, Bryan and the Bryan Ferry tour team.
