We are very proud to present our latest live session. At Sound Technology we are lucky enough to have fine musicians play our instruments. From time-to-time we are luckier still to have them perform for us. In this incredible series, keyboard player Gabriel Piers-Mantell is joined by Freddy Sheed on drums, and Diego Rodriguez on bass, to perform three original pieces written by Gabriel. We'll be releasing these over the next few weeks.
Gabriel Piers-Mantell is a piano and keyboard player with a style which reflects the multitude of genres in which he has worked; from Jazz, Blues and Gospel to Hip-Hop, Pop and R&B. His unique sound demonstrates a strong rhythmic and groove-based sensibility, and a broad and vibrant range of musical influences. Artists he has worked with includeWard Thomas, Eugene ‘Hideaway’ Bridges, Gregory Porter, Mr Jukes, Guy Sebastian, The London Community Gospel Choir, Rhys Lewis and Si Cranstoun amongst many others. Freddy Sheedis a drummer and musical director based in London. He has worked with a diverse range of artists and producers including Lily Allen, The 1975, Take That and Leona Lewis within TV, Radio, Recording Session and Live environments. On top of all of this, he is also about to open his own recording studio and record label based in Stratford. Follow Freddy on Instagram @freddysheed.
Originally from Colombia, bassist Diego Rodriguez settled in West London after earning his degree in Popular Music Performance with First Class Honours. Since then, his professional career has covered all aspects of popular music including touring, writing, recording, television and theatre work. Noteable musicians he has worked with include Dionne Warwick, Michael Bublé, James Arthur, All Saints and Beverley Knight. Follow Diego on Instagram @diegorodriguez8.
All music is recorded live in our own demo facility using aSoundcraft Ui24R digital mixer/multi-track recorder andAKG microphones. Gabriel is playing a Nord Stage 3using the recently released 'Amber Upright'piano patch.
