First Look at the new SSL 2 / 2+ Recording Pack bundles

Centred around the award-winning SSL 2 and 2+ USB audio interfaces, the new SSL 2 Recording Pack and SSL 2+ Recording Pack are designed to give you a simple all-in-one recording solution, providing everything you need to start creating music straight away.

The SSL 2 and 2+ audio interface brought SSL’s renowned studio quality to home users, and they continue to top the audio interface charts! Now with the addition of the new SSL 2 / 2+ Recording Packs - with an SSL microphone and headphones included - you can immediately plug in and start recording.

In addition to the USB interface, each of the Recording Packs includes an SSL condenser microphone with shock mount and thread adapter, and a pair of closed-back studio headphones, plus all the necessary cables. As with the SSL 2 and 2+ interfaces on their own, the Recording Packs also gives you access to a brilliant software bundle of plug-ins, samples and more.

What’s in the box?

  • SSL 2 or SSL 2+ audio interface
  • SSL SHP 80 headphones (including ¼" jack adapter)
  • SSL SMC 80 condenser microphone, shock mount and thread adapter (⅝" outer and ⅜" inner) for microphone stands
  • 2.5 M XLR microphone cable
  • USB C-C cable
  • USB C-A cable
  • SSL Production Pack DAW and Plug-Ins bundle (once registered)

Which Pack is right for me?

Your choice of which of the two packs is best for you will be based on the features you need from the audio interface. The SSL 2 and 2+ feature identical quality, with the 2+ adding extra outputs and extra features.

Our blog article here describes the differences between them in full – but in short the SSL 2 is a 2-in, 2-out device, whilst the SSL 2+ has 2 extra outputs, has the addition of a secondary headphone output, and has on-board MIDI I/O.

Both feature pristine 24-bit/192 KHz AD/DA converters feature bus-power (no PSU required), a pair of great sounding SSL designed pre-amps, and Legacy 4K - analogue colour enhancement, based on the classic SSL 4000 series consoles.

The included SMC 80 Studio Microphone

Condenser microphones are ideal for recording vocals, guitars and acoustic instruments and the SMC 80 is perfect for capturing every detail of your sound.

The included SHP 20 Headphones

The SHP 20 headphones are of closed-back design. This allows you to hear your music clearly without any external noise creeping in. It also means there is no spillage from the headphones when you are recording using a microphone in close proximity.

The included SSL Production Pack Software Bundle

This might just be the best free software bundle with any audio interface! The acclaimed SSL Production Pack features a huge and varied selection of must-have virtual instruments, plug-ins, samples and a DAW. Once you have registered your product, you will then have free access to everything you need to start recording to your Mac or PC.
