“The LSJ is a good guitar that represents great value for money, but the Baritone version the LSB, feels like a more desirable package that needs to be part of your guitar collection. It is not even a great deal more costly than the LSJ, so let’s put this one down as ‘highly recommended!"

Washburn LS Gtrs 560

Washburn originally introduced the Lakeside Jumbo model in 1912 and it is considered by many to be the first dreadnought sized guitar. It bridged the gap between smaller bodied parlour guitars of the late 19th and early 20th century, and modern day dreadnought and jumbo acoustic guitars. 100 years later Washburn have captured the essence of that model with modern materials to produce the LSJ743S jumbo and LSB768SE baritone. Guitar Interactive magazine review both models in the latest issue of the magazine.

The Washburn LSJ743S “...is a very well made and finished guitar with a quality feel that matches the well chosen components. All of the workmanship is top notch with no obvious issues and a sense that care has been taken throughout the build process. Internally, the bracing of the LSJ743S is very clean, representing a level of build that could be considered higher than the price might suggest and giving more confidence that this is a high quality instrument”.

“Playing wise the LSB768SE is much more comfortable and approachable than the long 29” scale length might suggest. In fact it takes very little time to adapt to the longer neck length and fret spacing and certainly gets the creative juices flowing as chords and lead lines are offered an entirely new sonic twist”.
