Mia Fitz, keyboard player and multi-instrumentalist currently touring with Hozier, on the Nord Stage 2

Last month we had the pleasure of meeting Mia Fitz at London's Roundhouse. A huge fan of the Nord Stage 2, Mia took some time out during soundcheck to tell us what she likes most about Nord's flagship board, and how it is the perfect fit for Hozier's lauded live shows.

"I grew up with a father who was a really talented classical pianist so I had a lot of pianos in the house.  We had a 9ft grand piano, lots of uprights and baby grand pianos, so I was very lucky to able to listen to a lot of beautiful pianos being played. "

"I find the character of the piano sounds of the Nord Stage 2 unrivalled."

"For Hozier's set I use a lot of quite dark piano sounds.  I would often take a piano sound like the Romantic Upright, get in and change it, and the board gives me the control to be able to do that ... for something like the track Take Me To Church it's a very dark old piano sound."

After the sold-out London dates, Hozier played dates in the USA, followed by festival appearances in the UK, Europe and USA.

This weekend they played Glastonbury on the main Pyramid Stage.  You can watch that performance here!

With huge thanks to Mia, Hozier and London's Roundhouse!
I would say that when you see Metallica live and they start a song without an introduction like “Nothing Else Matters” or Matt Bellamy launches into plug in baby with his Zeevex solo beginning, the importance of the real sound and the recognition in fans ears is essential and invaluable.
