CES 2022, Las Vegas, January 2022 - Trust Ashdown to redefine the concept of music everywhere. The UK-based audio innovators, famous for making the bass guitar amplifiers used by countless bands including U2, Foo Fighters and Biffy Clyro, have now announced the new Meters Linx, an uber-cool combined wireless ear bud and desktop speaker system that’s designed to keep the music flowing, indoors and out.

The desktop system comprises of a central Charging Case for the ear buds, which also features Ashdown’s trademark, vintage illuminated VU meter which responds in real time to the music. A pair of compact, IPX5-rated wireless speakers can be positioned up to 10m apart, utilising custom-tuned 2.5-inch full range drivers to deliver a dynamic and clearly defined sonic performance, whether you’re in the office or at the park with friends.

Take the ear-buds from the Charging Case and they’re all powered up for 6 hours of continuous use, courtesy of custom Lithium-Ion batteries. And the charging case can be used to provide an additional 24 hours of charge when used on the move.

Employing a custom-designed balanced armature driver coupled with a 7mm dynamic driver, the Linx TWS (True Wireless System) ear buds use the same Qualcomm Adaptive APTX codec as Ashdown’s flagship Meters OV-1-B-C headphones for ultra-low latency HD audio, with rich, sonorous bass, clear and pristine high frequencies and a detailed, well-defined midrange.

Intuitive, touch-sensitive controls on the left and right ear buds place full control at the user’s fingertips, with features including Play/Pause, Volume Up/Down, Skip Track and more. An on-board motion sensor detects when the ear buds are in use, optimising battery charge.

But why stop the music when you get home? Simply placing the Linx ear buds back into the charging case means the Linx speakers take over, providing a seamless switchover which keeps the music flowing.
