- Sound Technology Sessions -
Last week we were privileged to share with you another video from our Sound Technology Sessions.
‘Break them both’ was performed with an Oscar Schmidt by Washburn OU5LCE ukulele by the wonderfully talented Katy Anderson. K.Anderson is a South London based female singer/songwriter who’s music is ‘best described as Soulkulele, soulful songs accompanied by a ukulele and a big, heavy heart.'
Our goal when we started Sound Technology Sessions was to showcase incredible music from amazing musicians who use our instruments.
It brings us continual pleasure to work with artists such as Katy who are not only endlessly talented by also share a passion for the instruments that we here at Sound Technology take such pride in distributing.
This week we bring you the third and final instalment of Jim Watson’s sessions featuring the iconic Nord Keyboards. This video will be the end of our sessions for 2015 but we cannot wait to restart again in 2016.
- Ola Englund -
Last week we were fortunate enough to be joined by Ola Englund - a Washburn signature artist, on his UK series of clinics at Andertons Music in Guildford, PMT in Birmingham and Hobgoblin Music in Canterbury.
Check in to our social media this week to see the photos from the clinics.
- Digitech TRIO -
The fantastic Digitech Trio band creator pedal has featured in Total Guitar’s 2015 readers' poll: ‘The 8 best guitar innovations of 2015’
Any guitarist who's played in a band will know how brilliant it is when a drummer and bass player mesh together to provide a solid foundation to the music. But getting there takes a lot of work.
"Tell the TRIO what to play and it will almost always get it right."
- Congratulations to Hozier and Mia Fitz -
And finally we 'd like to congratulate singer-songwriter Hozier who won the public vote for Song of the Year at the well-publicised 2015 BBC Music Awards for Take Me To Church. The Irish musician gave a special performance of the track, backed by the BBC Concert Orchestra which prominantly featured keyboard-player Mia Fitz on stage with her Stage 2 88.
Earlier this year we caught up with Mia at London’s Roundhouse to hear what she likes most about Nord’s flagship board and how perfect it is for Hozier’s lauded live shows.
"For Hozier's set I use a lot of quite dark piano sounds. I would often take a piano sound like the Romantic Upright, get in and change it, and the board gives me the control to be able to do that ... for something like the track Take Me To Church it's a very dark old piano sound."
