"...the AB10 sounds particularly good in an acoustic setting, but there's plenty of scope here for using this bass in all sorts of situations, from folk and jazz to reggae and unplugged rock. Oh, and for practice without earplugs".

Acoustic magazine decide to get 'acquainted with a trusty stalwart' this month where they review the Washburn AB10 acoustic bass.
"The Washburn AB series has been around for years, and has long been among the best of this type of instrument available".
"First impressions are of a really handsome bass. The black finish is flat and glossy and the workmanship appears to be of top quality..."
"Before plugging in, I tried the AB10 acoustically and I have to say it's pretty impressive. Out of the box the instrument was very well set up with no rattles and good intonation over the whole length of the neck. It's loudish too - and for such a shallow-bodied instrument it produces a useful amount of bass frequencies".
"Playing around with the Equis on-board preamp is well worthwhile, and everything from a zingy, almost dobro-type sound to a fat, warm and mellow woody one is there".
"As well as the standard jack socket, the XLR balanced out is a useful feature, and given the low noise and high quality of the preamp, this would no doubt make a great recording instrument straight into the desk".
The full review can be found in the February issue of Bass magazine (Issue 75)
