"It plays impeccably, it looks and feels wonderful and sounds every bit as good as that price tag suggests it should".

Continuing the fantastic press response to Washburn's Custom Shop instruments, the latest issue of Guitar Buyer magazine includes a review of the WI568 USA Idol.
Courtesy of a revamped Custom shop facility in Chicago, 2009 marks the first time that these remarkable instruments have hit UK shores. The WI68 features a TonePros tune-o-matic style bridge and stud tailpiece with high-geared (18:1) Grover Tuners. The Buzz Feiten Tuning system is also standard on all USA Washburn Guitars.
"It looks and feels like the expensive guitar it is, and has that hard-to-define quality that not only leaves you feeling you're playing better, it feels like a good friend that's helping you do it. That hand-made, Custom Shop vibe simply oozes from the entire instrument. Of course it helps that the Idol is simply a good design...this model has to be the most perfect incarnation we've seen so far".
"It'll come as no surprise at all to learn that the WI568 sounds a lot like a Les Paul. It had to, really. Having said that, as confirmed Gibson-ites, we really wish our own LP Standard sounded a bit more like this little beauty! This Washburn has a pleasing bounce to the tone and a more effortless resonance".
"This is a guitar that will make you feel like it, and you belong in a higher class altogether. If you're looking for a posh Les Paul inspired guitar with knock out tone, you should certainly have the WI568 right at the top of your list".
