The Evening Standard, the capital’s leading newspaper, ran a fantastic feature on Propellerhead’s Reason software and in particular the Abbey Road Keyboards ReFill on Wednesday 12 March. Taking a huge share of the page, the story uses terrific photos and quotes Propellerhead’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Timothy Self.
"An awful lot of research went into getting the sound right, and we even tracked down some of the original engineers to advise us," said Timothy Self of Propellerhead, the company behind the software.
Instruments available include the Mellotron, a tape-based version of a digital sampler used in Strawberry Fields Forever, and tubular bells used in When I'm 64. The most famous, however, is the "Mrs Mills" piano used in Lady Madonna.
"There are some of the most famous instruments in the world, and it was amazing to work with them," said Mr Self. "These seem to have a real soul that we hope we captured".
The Evening Standard has an audited ABC circulation of 277,522 and an estimated readership of over 598,000. The standard.co.uk website offers 1 million unique UK users.
