Nord is pleased to announce an updated version of its free Librarian application, now renamed as the Nord Sound Manager. Currently compatible with the new Nord Electro 3 Series, the Nord Sound Manager will become a generic librarian for Electro, Stage and Wave products with upcoming updates of the Nord Wave OS and Nord Stage OS.
The Windows XP/Vista and Mac OSX compatible application allows you to manage the various sounds in an Electro 3 and relieves the duties of the Nord Electro 3 Manager. The Nord Sound Manager is an easy-to-use tool that allows you to load the Electro 3 with new pianos and samples, and to arrange and make backups of the memories. These operations are done by simple drag and drop operations or from toolbar- or menu activated actions in the application.
The Sound Manager has received a few cosmetic makeovers and a couple of nifty features. It is now possible to copy programs by Ctrl-click-dragging a program to an empty location, you can double-click on a piano, sample or program in the Manager list to automatically select this item in the Electro 3 and you have more options to present the lists of items in a manner that you choose. A new Search box allows you to find any programs with names that contain certain characters, to e.g. help you organize the programs in the Electro 3 to suit your needs.
The Nord Sample Editor used to add any sound you want to the Electro 3, has also received a few tweaks as well, to make it compatible with the new Electro 3 OS and a forthcoming Wave OS. The Sample Editor can use audio files in the .wav format and is equipped with some great tools to assist you in getting the results you want. Mapping several samples across the keyboard or creating perfect loops has never been easier. You can even start assembling your own samples in the computer, without having the Nord Electro 3 present.
