It seems there is no end to the superb press for Larrivee Guitars. Continuing the trend is this month's Acoustic Magazine, which includes reviews of the 2008 Limited Edition LV-03RE Marquetry edition and a OOO-50 in Tobacco Sunburst. Both models receive Acoustic Magazine's 'Exceptional' five out of five rating.

"If you're going to spend this kind of money on a guitar, you want it too look like something special; for all that, you might not want over-the-top decoration, and for me, the Larrivee hits that note perfectly".

"The tone it delivers is very balanced, not characterised by booming bass or particularly crystalline treble, but rather by a sweetness right across the frequencies, and a warmth which is surprising in a spruce-topped guitar it has perhaps the warmest tone of any spruce guitar I've played, without losing the singing top end".

"The guitar once more feels more intimate and accommodating than its dimensions would suggest, and I found myself feeling immediately at home with it".

"The Larrivee surprised me, then, by once again having a very balanced tone, he highs not sounding at all muted, nut not having the sharpness I'd expected, the mids surprisingly warm, and the low end still fairly rich, without the hollowness I associate with this wood combination".

"With that in mind, I plugged it into my Headway Shire King amplifier to get a feel for the amplified sound, and I have to say I was very impressed. With the amp's EQ set completely flat, and the same on the guitar's LR Baggs pickup the sound was immediately impressive: full, powerful, punchy and rich".
