A Guy Called Gerald

A Guy Called Gerald

Remix Masterclass

Where do you start with A Guy Called Gerald? A hidden gem, the gateway between Chicago house / Detroit Techno and the UK dance music explosion in the late 80s. He is the first UK acid house producer and probably the first producer to have two instrumental dance tracks in the UK charts at the same. He formed 808 State with a drum machine, a 303, 2 Roland SH101s and 2 other humans. His collaborations stem from Frankie Knuckles, Goldie, Finley Quaye and Derrick May through to Herbie Hancock, remixed for David Bowie, Lamb, Stone Roses, Black Uhuru, Can, Tricky, Roman Fluegel and The Orb and toured with New Order, Tricky and Bebel Gilberto.

TPC Blu Mar Ten

Blu Mar Ten

Production Masterclass

Blu Mar Ten’s first track to be released was ‘The Fountain’ / ‘Lunar’ in 1996 on the now defunct Way Out Records. The track appeared on numerous compilations and was named by Fabio as his ‘tune of the year’. This was closely followed by the Blu Mar Ten remix of Erykah Badu’s first single ‘On & On’ for MCA Records, which reached the mainstream top 10 music chart.  Blu Mar Ten tracks have been played by DJs as diverse as Tom ‘The Jedi’ Middleton, Pete Tong, Chris Coco & Rob da Bank, Felix da Housecat, Bobby Friction, Ben Watt, Carl Cox, Lee Burridge, Erol Alkan, Howie B, Nerm & D-Code and Mary Anne Hobbs.

DJ Alex Blanco

Alex Blanco

ReCycle Masterclass

In over 15 years of professional DJing and production, spanning the underground to the mainstream, he has worked with, produced, and remixed such names as Seb Fontaine, Simon Dale, Just Jack, Simply Red, Gabriella Cilmi, Out Of Office, Jon Carter, Oliver Lang, Deepgroove and far too many more to mention. Working as himself or under one of his many pseudonyms, his encyclopaedic knowledge of music from the 50s to the present day lets him draw on influences spanning soul to pop, reggae to rock, house or hip-hop – giving him a funky edge that’s as comfortable on the radio as it is in the clubs.

Gary Bromham

Gary Bromham
