'...it almost turned me into the Beatles!": Play Music Pickup Magazine review the Digitech Vocalist Live 3 Desktop
30th July '09

“I strummed a clean E major chord and sung the opening lines to the Beatle’s ‘Nowhere Man’ and straight away it was like I had Paul and George singing back at me!  Wow!”

The latest addition to Digitech’s hugely successful Vocalist line of products, the Vocalist Live 3 Desktop, gets its first review in this month’s Play Music Pickup Magazine.

The VL3D offers 3-part harmonies using DigiTech’s exclusive MusIQ™ Technology, which analyses the singer’s voice and adds the most musically correct harmonies while offering real-time pitch correction and gender control. Featuring single-level programmability and five user defined voicing patches; the VL3D can be programmed on the fly without missing a note.

“In use, the Digitech’s pre-effects all worked as expected, with the warmth and compressor controls being particularly useful to use.  The reverb sounds fine too, probably better than it has a right to in a unit at this price with this much digital processing already going on”.

“Regarding using the VL3D live, in most cases it would be a no-brainer – a godsend to the gigging guitarist or duo that wants to thicken their sound with harmonies”.

“So to sum up, its really the only processor that offers this level of versatility and quality at a surprisingly decent price, in addition to this it almost turned me into the Beatles so ultimately has to get the thumbs up from me!  If you are looking for a good quality, great value harmony generator make sure you check out this new Digitech Vocalist…”
